This lovely, elegant decorative vase features an urn-like form with intricate twin scroll handles adorned with thorn-like detailing, suggestive of late Art Nouveau or Neoclassical Revival influences. The central body is crafted from polished banded calcite, exhibiting natural veining and a soft, translucent quality. The stone is mounted in a silver-toned metal, likely silverplate over brass or spelter, with fine beaded trim accenting the base and collar.

Though unmarked, the style and construction suggest European origin—possibly Austrian or Italian—dating from the early to mid-20th century (circa 1920–1950). The absence of maker’s marks may indicate it was produced as a decorative export item. The piece remains a striking example of early 20th-century decorative metalwork with natural stone inlay. A beautiful way to display your spheres!

This piece measures roughly 12cm high, 8.9cm wide & 4.2cm deep. This description is based on my research and best attempt at an accurate description. Any inaccuracies found later are entirely unintentional.
